Is the Stelvio mechanically the same as the Giulia?
Very largely — engines, transmission, electrical architecture and brake system are shared. The Stelvio adds standard Q4 all-wheel drive and more weight, so its driveline, brakes and tires need a little more attention.
Does the Stelvio transfer case need servicing?
It should be inspected and its fluid condition checked as part of regular maintenance. All-wheel-drive components that are never looked at tend to be discovered only when they fail.
Why does my Stelvio show a brake system warning?
The Stelvio uses an integrated brake-by-wire system, so a brake warning can come from that module as well as from pads, fluid level or a sensor. It needs a scan of the brake system as well as a physical inspection.
